Inspiration: silent by vocation and disposition, an immense force that knows how to wait.
Each process of growth requires patience; I have learnt this, and I am still learning.
Patience is fundamental in our lives: it helps us in all situations, especially challenging ones; it is like training in humility, the enhancement of our strength.
Armed with patience, we can reflect carefully and make good decisions.
At times it takes patience to follow the heart, since the heart is very demanding, and not everything it asks is readily available.
It also takes patience in our relations with others, meaning deep respect and consideration for fellow humans.
It is truly an immense force, yet it is not immediately obvious.
I pictured these elements in the design that Karim Rashid created for me – very simple, with an intriguing shape.
Simple, because the Truth we seek is within us, and behind what we see with our eyes.
On the front is a clear, linear space for the image of our life; on the back, an interesting spoon-shaped foot forms the main decorative feature, representing Patience, it bears our life’s image.
Its power is strong, not instantly visible, yet essential, the main feature supporting the whole.
