Guillochè
Guilloché, rare magic since Fabergé
A sophisticated method of artistic engraving in which the geometric pattern is repeated on a silver or gold plate, where the search for fine detail characterises the frame or item.
This rare art was made famous by Peter Carl Fabergé, the Czar’s jeweller, whose celebrated eggs are highly sought-after by the world’s top collectors. Only a few experienced craftsmen are able to create the poetry of such simple yet fine decoration, an entirely manual technique that uses polished and satin finishes to create wonderful light effects
